I love bowl season, even a bad bowl is better than no bowl!
I got FSU big in this one. Good Offense on the Bulldogs.

Fresno under Pat Hill ... fare good as dogs, OK as small favorites ... anytime you ever see em laying more than a TD, fade em. Add in the fact that the Cowboys (2nd bowl game in like 15 years) are much happier to be in this dog shit bowl ... and it all adds up to a 3 point Fresno win or Wyoming shocker.

Nailed it Rich. That was a very poorly played game. It was exciting, but man it was poorly played. That FSU back didn't seem as great as billed and I have never seen so many poor angles and missed tackles. FSU should have sacked that Carta-Samuels kid about 5 more times. That Wyoming QB was the lone bright spot in the game.

Playing Southern Miss -4 tonight. They've been great in bowls ... covering last 4 years IIRC. Big advantage for em on both lines. Like em to win by 10-14 points.

I'm taking the Beavers tonight. I dunno just got a hunch. Beside the Ducks hate the Beavers and they keep accusing me of being a Beavers fan in their message boards.

I'm with you man. I just hate the Ducks and how they insist upon themselves, so go Beavers! I actually think they'll win it though, they'll go in fired up with something to prove after just missing the Granddaddy.
And no, my username doesn't have to do with Oregon State, I just love the old Nickelodeon show, seen in avatar.

I have come to the conclusion that the single most important factor in picking the "Petsmart Dog-Shit Scooper Bowl" is motivation. You can just tell that some teams are happier to be there and work harder, so after year's of getting burnt by the irrational emotions of 19 year old kids, I am going to start capitalizing on it. Honestly, it may actually be the single most important factor in these games. BYU, WY, and MTSU just played harder and were more engaged than their more talented counterparts.

Agree. Tricky thing about last night's game, though, was that both teams had roughly equal reason to be unmotivated. OrSU missed out on the Rose Bowl and BYU was playing in Vegas for the fifth straight year after getting a lot of early BCS buzz.
The wind was a HUGE factor last night. Oregon State was doomed when they had the wind in the first quarter but still came out of it down 14-7.

Utah beatin' ass. Pac 10 looking weak. USC loses too? I like it, as long as the Buckeyes come away with the W. Gotta say, I love cheering for BSU, BYU and Utah. I call bullshit on the TCU/ BSU game. Need to see them vs. SEC/ Big 10/ French 12 opponents.

PAC-10 is getting their clocks cleaned. Makes that loss to USC seem that much worse, granted OSU has improved drastically since that game. Oregon St. and Cal both looked, ehhh. Going with upset today: SMU +12.5, I think I like them to win outright. Nevada is without their two leading rushers leaving them a running quarterback and a bunch of question marks. I also think that this bowl is a bigger deal for Jones and the Ponies than for the Wolfpack, and as I previously mentioned, I think that is probably one of the biggest factors in handicapping these early bowls.

At what point do we start giving the Mt. West some love?
At least better than the ACC? As Furls spoke about all the bitch slapping the western conferences are giving to the Pac-10 this year, if tOSU loses to Oregon does it look that much worse for the Big 10? I realize Boise isn't MWC, but they also whooped Oregon, and now it's looking like the "well they caught them early" take might be incorrect.
9 Straight bowl wins is nothing to sneeze at, and these teams have a real chip on their shoulders about beating BCS opponents. Certainly the bottom of the conference is putrid (San Diego State, New Mexico and Colorado St.) but the top of the conference at least shows they can compete with the big boys. I realize the BCS is all about the Benjamins, and why add a conference who will bring very little money to the overall picture. I guess an empty Fiesta Bowl would go a long way to showing these schools don't belong, but who knows. If the Big 10 snags Mizzou or NEB, maybe BSU can jump over, or perhaps TCU gets back in with traditional rivals.

I agree with Furls on the SMU tilt. This will be the Lead Man's second wager of the bowl season. Kaps a nice QB, and he may win the game himself, but not sure if he can win it by a dozen himself. Too many points against a hungry program ILO.

Lead, do you do that bet at 11.5 as well? That's the line I have.
EDIT: Also considering parlaying that with under 71. What you think?

How is June Jones not Coach of the Year. TCU has had a great season, and I think they win their bowl game, but from 1 win to 7 wins and administering an absolute beat down in a bowl game. Freshman QB, running the run & shoot to perfection. That's coaching. Gotta be in the conversation, right?

I guess SMU +11.5 and the under was a good bet!
That should help my overall bowl outlook. the more I read about this game, the more I loved SMU!

Should be between June Jones and Rob Akey at Idaho IMO.

Got UCLA and Wisconsin today.
My gut is screaming Wisconsin today, so I have completely reversed my position on that game. They just seem to show up for bowl games and I think they are underrated, only losing to OSU, IOWA, and NW.

Got UM -3. Too fast for Wisconsin, and a poorly performing pass D hurts the Badgers, although you're right about Wisc. showing up for bowl games.
Picked up Temple +4.5. Good run D will force UCLA's freshman QB to carry the team on his arm. Cold and windy in DC, and it's a west coast team coming east. Temple with the upset, can't sleep on the MAC.

Parlaying Temple to win straight up and Under 45. Very confident so long as Bernard Pierce plays; otherwise I'm screwed.
Parlaying Miami -4 and Under 57. I dont think this one will even be close, its essentially a home game for the U.
4-1 on my bowl parlays so far.

Agree on Whisky. Just a very strong gut feeling as on paper I think UM looks like a better team.
Thier loss to OSU was some sort of statistical oddity. OSU was dominated across the board besides ST, TO, and the Scoreboard.

If the Temple PR let's one more punt roll 10 yards past him, I'll drive to DC and kick him in the nuts. Golden screwed the pooch, should have kicked the FG. Temple loses this game. Hopefully by only 4 points.

Wisky with a nice balanced attack so far. Plus the Canes top rusher went down with what looked like a serious knee injury. Wow that turn in Orlando is awful.
This is going to be tough on The U if Wisky comes out and scores to open the half. Miami can't seem to sustain a drive so they need to regroup in the locker room.

Whisky dominant upfront on O. Looks as if Miami has that "deer in the headlights" look. Panic has set in.
Go B10. Get us off to a good start.

Canes made it fun. Whiskey redefines conservative football. I am not so sure I don't just go for it down there inside the 15, but that's what I am sitting on the couch I guess.

Idaho DBs must not have been convinced Freddie Barnes first 16 catches, 170yards and two TDs were legit because they just lost him in a 35-35 game for a 52 yard TD with 30 seconds to play.
17 catches, 219yards and 3TDS for the new single season reception holder in FBS.

This BG-Idaho game is sick.
Idaho drives 70 yards in the final 30seconds to score. Survived a replay and now they're considering the two-point conversion.

Ooh I don't have a dog in the fight, other than rooting for the Ohio kids. I went to Buckeye Boys State at BGSU, but man how thrilling here at the end.
Was that a catch or no? Idaho coach saying screw it we are going for the win.... He was kind of funny after the halftime interview the way he looked into the camera and said something like "wait until you see this 2nd half"

Holy shit. That was a fun game to watch.
If Idaho scores with 14 seconds left instead of 4 I'm convinced BGSU would have mounted a winning drive.

Fun game, awful tackling. No DB, on either side, can wrap. How the hell does Barnes get that wide open? Only playmaker on BG and he lights them up. Doesn't matter now, but jeez...

Bo Pelini has Nebraska looking good in the Youngstown Bowl against Mike Stoops and Arizona.
23-0 and driving in the 3rd. The defense is great as always and now the "plays that we want to work on for next year" are working for the offense and they look explosive and creative.
Am I the only one that thinks Pelini takes Nebraska back to the top in the near future?

Watching the second half of that game. Gotta start wondering if the Arizona QB has spent an entire season pi$$ing off his offensive line and today is payback day. Those dudes are just laying down in "pocket protection."
